การรวมกลุ่มของประเทศ Netherlands, Sweden, Denmark และ UK เพื่อพัฒนา European Master Entry Level of Occupational Therapy ทำให้วิชาชีพกิจกรรมบำบัดแบบเฉพาะทางในแง่พัฒนา Scientific methods and theory in human occupation and culture in Europe ดูข้อมูลเพิ่มเติมที่ www.ot-euromaster.nl  ในประเทศ Ireland นำ International guidelines มาพัฒนาหลักสูตรร่วมกับการเสริม Local context through occupational view เช่นเดียวกับประเทศ Canada ที่มีการพัฒนา Competency based fieldwork evaluations for occupational therapist students

หลายประเทศได้นำ Revised Minimum Standard of the World Federation for Occupational Therapists (Hocking, C. & Ness, N., 2002) มาพัฒนากระบวนการ Clinical reasoning skills ผ่าน Case scenario (VIVA) นั้นสามารถขยายแนวคิดออกเป็นห้ารูปแบบ ได้แก่  The Person-Environment-Occupation (PEO) relationship and health, Context of practice with task-based learning, Therapeutic and professional relationship, Client practice and relationship และ Learning styles and environments 

นอกจากนี้การ Integrating the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF) ของ WHO ก็เน้นให้การรักษาด้วยวิธีทางกิจกรรมบำบัดนั้นไม่ได้มองถึง Biomedical and phenomenological aspects of illness and health conditions แค่นั้น แต่ต้องมองให้กว้างและครอบคลุมถึง Living experience and individual perceptions of participation with health condition(s)  

บางประเทศเน้นการศึกษาคำจำกัดความและการเข้าถึงปฏิบัติการทางคลินิกด้าน Occupational science into practice และศึกษาวิจัยในหลากหลายรูปแบบ เช่น Energy for engagement in pre-occupation, Formal educator support (3-day workshop for training supervisor education/using creative supervision), Service learning project (preparation/need assessment-action onsite-reflection core concepts of occupational therapy in community), Rebuilding of relationship through occupational deprivation/alienation/adaptation/justice/professional, Self-management and behavioral approach/strategy for chronic disease, Developing the practice education database (website)-ดูข้อมูลเพิ่มเติมที่ www.inpractice.org และ www.wfot.org

“WFOT International Day on Oct 27^th” ถูกกำหนดขึ้นเพื่อให้นานาชาติรับรู้ถึงการพัฒนาการเรียนกิจกรรมบำบัดร่วมกันทั่วโลกในแง่ Occupational dysfunction and health กับ Occupational engagement is contral to meaningful life และเน้นการให้คำปรึกษา (International Advisory Groups) แก่ประเทศที่ขาดแคลนหรือกำลังพัฒนางานทางด้านกิจกรรมบำบัดโดยสรุปคือ Occupational science, Mental health, Evidence based practice, Participation and accessibility, Health policy และ Human resources project 

สุดท้ายผมได้รับหลักแปดประการของ John Kotter เพื่อให้นักกิจกรรมบำบัดในไทยทุกคนได้เตรียมตัวพัฒนาตนเองอยู่ตลอดเวลา ในอนาคตที่โลกของเรากำลังเปลี่ยนแปลงทั้งดีและร้าย ดังนี้

2. Form a powerful guiding coalition

3. Creat a vision

4. Communicate the vision

5. Empower others to act on the vision

6. Plan for and create short team win

7. Consolidate improvement

8. Instituation new approach
